Repenting...Starting Fresh
So you just found out that you are an Israelite...now what? Whats the next step? Who should you tell or what should you do?
Coming into this truth will oftentimes have you feeling as if you are going through "spiritual rehab" or a cleansing. Your ultimate goal is to come back with a clean body, mind and spirit and not revert back to your old ways. But how long does this usually takes? Will this be an easy task or a difficult challenge? What if you don't have a support group backing you? What if you fail???
What is most important when coming into this truth is knowing that with constant prayer and fasting, eventually you will be led by the Holy Spirit and the will of the Most High will guide you in the direction you are destined for. But you have to be aware of the possible bumps and bruises ahead and be willing to endure with patience...
The first rule of thumb when going through Spiritual Rehab is admitting that you have a problem. When you heard the truth for the first time, whether it be from a brother on the street or a video online you saw, two things usually happen: you either agree with the scriptures or don't agree and keep it moving. If you didn't know already, my intended target audience for this site are the sisters who agreed :)
So now you say to yourself: "Yes, I believe in the Most High, yes I agree we are the chosen people destined to rule, etc." However, we all have to keep in mind that not only do we have to talk the talk, but walk the walk:
"Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only"
"For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also."
-James 2 24 &26
It is solely up to you to not only admit that you believe the word of The Most High, but to admit that all of this time, you have not been living the live according to the laws, statues and commandments that were written. It is a blessing that the word eventually reached you, so don't be hard on yourself, no matter how ignorant and guilty of sin you were back in the world. Focus on getting to know the scriptures better, understanding them and applying it to your everyday life. In due time walking in righteousness will become quite the norm for you while the old you, the niggarette that was living in the world shamelessly (remember Ecclesiaticus 26:25!!!) is now dead for good.
Repentance Takes Discipline and Patience!
I will not lie...repenting is no joke! Remember that difficult math problem in school, where each and everyday during the school year you fought long and hard to make sure you that not only you understood the problem, but followed the steps necessary to solve the problem? Through constant studying you eventually learned how to conquer that problem so that you will forever remember the methods and eventually use those same concepts in the latter years of your life. The same goes for repenting and coming back to The Most High!
This becomes difficult especially when you have demons constantly telling you that you don't have to repent or that you don't have to worry about trying to solve that math problem in order to excel. As you get deeper into this truth you will soon find out that much tribulation is ahead. No matter how difficult things may get, or how many times you may slip, just know that salvation is awaiting those who choose to diligently serve the Lord and follow his commandments to the best of their ability.
"Trouble and anguish have taken hold on me: yet thy commandments are my delights."
-Psalms 119 143
