Scripture of The Day
Wisdom of Solomon 13:9
For if they were able to know so much, that they could aim at the world; how did they not sooner find out the Lord thereof?
A wordly Israelite woman is a proud woman. They have been conditioned to believe that a job, jewels, fancy clothes and a higher education are the only things to strive for in life. They want so much to be like Edomite women and as a result, The Most High, Christ and the commandments are an afterthought. There are sisters who are Doctors, Engineers, Marketing Managers and even Scientists. I am willing to bet however, that many of them don't have time for the LORD or studying the scriptures. Why would they be interested in the Kingdom that will come if they are "striving" in this captivity?
I know many women who have great careers, a few college degrees and nice things. The sky's the limit for them. Funny thing is that those same women have all types of issues/demons and they can't seem to figure out why they are being inflicted. Its like they have so much, but spiritually have very little. All the knowledge they have from school and life experiences, they still don't understand why these things are happening and how to cope and heal. Everything looks nice and impressive from the outside but inside tells a different story. And the story is that these women don't fear The Most High and understand HIS will.
Knowledge and wisdom surpasses all of the worldly gifts from this society. Keeping the commandments and studying scripture heals all inflictions. When you have that understanding, you will then realize that "aiming for the world" is secondary, while following The Most High comes first. So the next time you see a sister with that nice car, fresh pair of Louboutins and with that "dream job", remember that if she doesn't fear and understand the LORD, everything else is insignificant. Keep in mind that The Most High has the ability to take away those wordly things and humble you, if it be his will. So never envy a sister who seems to be aiming for this world, but lacks the knowledge of the scriptures. And don't allow yourself to become too proud of your wordly achievements.
